The Tigers have been a disaster offensively. There was no shame in the inability to score against Georgia’s elite defense, but when Georgia Tech holds them to 14, there is reason for concern. Clemson’s defense has been terrific, though, and will slow down the Wolfpack offense considerably. That will give the Tigers a chance to win but, unless their offense suddenly comes to life, we will likely have another game in which neither team scores 20.

Clemson has failed to cover the spread in its last four games, but the three this season are the most alarming. The 14-8 struggle against Georgia Tech last week was another sign that the potent Clemson attack from the last decade is in a major slump. Only five starters returned on offense in 2021. The NC State home edge isn’t reflected as much in the number. I bet NC State, taking the points.
