The Bulldogs have historically given LSU a hard time in Starkville. Following disastrous back-to-back losses to Auburn and Tennessee, they need at least a respectable showing to held salvage their season, Putting up a fight against an LSU club in a potential flat spot off its big win over Florida is a good place to start.

This is a tricky spot for LSU as such a heavy favorite on the road. It's coming off a big win against Florida, and has a game with Auburn looming next week. So instead of taking a side, I like the Over here. LSU will score points against anybody, and this Mississippi State loves letting people score. I also think the Bulldogs will be able to exploit some of LSU's defensive deficiencies. Maybe not enough to cover, but enough to push us Over the total.

The oddsmakers have this line dropping, maybe thinking that LSU will have an emotional letdown after its thrilling win against Florida last week. Mississippi State's best bet is to lean on RB Kylin Hill and try to exploit the Tigers' aggressiveness defensively. I struggle to see the Bulldogs doing enough on either side of the ball to keep this one close. Lay it with LSU.

Mississippi State's quarterback situation is a mess, and its defense has a sieve. Unless LSU QB Joe Burrow gets hit with a cowbell, the Tigers should roll with ease. Take LSU.
