The total has rocketed up in the wake of some big offensive numbers by these teams. However, Maryland’s 79 points and Temple’s 56 in their openers can be discounted because of the lower-level opponents (Howard and Bucknell, respectively). Temple comes off a bye week, which means it was afforded extra time to prepare for the Terrapins’ attack. Last year’s matchup produced 49 points, well below the total offered here.

Nobody on the Owls can run with the Terps -- especially running back Anthony McFarland, Jr. Quarterback Josh Jackson has thrived with his fresh start, and Mike Locksley has silenced his critics. The Terps are for real, and this one will get extremely ugly.

The Terps have been one of college football's most surprising stories so far this season. New head coach Mike Locksley has his squad undefeated and averaging a 71.0 points per game, including 63 points against No. 21 Syracuse last week. I doubt Maryland puts up that many points against a solid Temple defense. But with the speed and explosiveness the Terps have on the offensive side of the ball, they'll have more than enough to win by at least a touchdown.
