As he realized his roster needed a boost, K-State HC Jerome Tang went aggressively into the portal in the offseason and landed a few ringers, especially ex-Memphis (and TCU and Tulsa) G PJ Haggerty. All Haggerty has done to this point is score at a rapid 28 ppg clip to become a runaway leader in the national scoring race. Tang looked far and wide for other reinforcements, including the Metro-Atlantic (G Abdi Bashir via Monmouth; 14.3 ppg), the MAC (G Nate Johnson via Akron, 13.7 ppg), and the Coastal (F Khamari McGrifff vs. UNCW; 11.7 ppg) as the Cats are shooting 52% from the floor and scoring briskly at 93 ppg. Meanwhile, IU's best win over Marquette has lost some of its luster. Play K-State
One thing I like to do after a few games is fade bad defenses on the road. Kansas State is rolling offensively but the Wildcats have allowed an average of 85.5 points in their last four games. That concerns me with Kansas State playing its first true toad game at Indiana. The Hoosiers haven't played anyone yet but I like the roster Darian DeVries has assembled. Indiana should be able to score at will near the basket and I give them a big defensive edge in this matchup. I'll lay the 8.5. Bet up to 9.5.
