Santa Clara has covered all three of their lined games, winning by an average score of 86-67. They’re 4-0 while tonight's opponent, Idaho State, from the Big Sky, is 2-2, covering all three of their lined games. Santa Clara comes off impressive performances at Xavier and then beating Nevada by 15. Santa Clara is shooting 50.6% from the field while holding opponents to 38% from the field; over 50 under 40, a favorite measure of mine. I'm going with Santa Clara tonight, covering the spread that is below their average margin of victory.
Quite a start to the season for Santa Clara, and off of one of its best weeks when whipping Xavier and Nevada to move to 4-0 into tonight. Herb Sendek looks like he has something to work with this season, with the emergence of soph wing Christian Hammond (16.8 ppg) the most pleasant surprise. Sendek's bench is also contributing which is helping some recent scorelines grow. There's also emerging 7-1 soph Bukky Oboye, who stunned Nevada with 22 points and 7 blocked shots (Dennis Awtrey never even used to do that much!) in Saturday's 98-83 win. It is asking a lot of Idaho State's somewhat-limited weaponry and plodding presence on the blocks to keep pace at Leavey Center. Play Santa Clara.
