No Adou Thiero for the Razorbacks tonight. Arkansas has been up and down all season, mostly down. They’ve dropped their last three road games while the Commodores have played six straight games against ranked conference opponents. Vanderbilt has struggled at time against teams with above average defenses and even though the Razorbacks offense isn’t the best, their defense is surprisingly not that bad. Arkansas are off a miserable offensive performance in their last game, 28.8%, with 13 turnovers and you can only imagine what Coach Cal had to say after that game, expect a better showing out of them tonight.
The screws tighten for Arkansas and its Big Dance hopes after laying an egg at South Carolina. Remember, however, that the Razorbacks had covered eight straight (at least for those who got +8.5 at Texas A&M on Feb. 15) into Columbia, as the offense had nicely compensated for the injury to flashy frosh G Boogie Fland. Nothing worked vs. the Gamecocks, especially 3-point shooting (only 3 for 22), but Gs Johnell Davis & DJ Wagner had both been playing much better lately than their combined 5 for 19 from the floor (and 1 for 9 triples) on Saturday. All credit to Vandy, but after a succession of big games, carrying this sort of price vs. a desperate Coach Cal-and his Porkers looks dicey. Play Arkansas
