On Feb. 1 the Pilots beat Pepperdine by 20 points, in Malibu, Calif. This matchup should be closer, but I bet the home team to cover the short number. Improving Portland is 4-2 SU in February, with two of those wins coming against teams above them in the WCC standings (Oregon State, Loyola Marymount). The Waves have lost six of seven and are 2-10 on the road; their four conference wins came against the WCC's two worst teams. Portland's 6-10 freshman, Austin Rapp, is hitting his stride. He was just named WCC Freshman of the Week for the fifth time and leads all freshmen nationally with 73 made 3-pointers. On Senior Night in Portland, look for the Pilots to cover their fifth straight.
