Oklahoma is undefeated thus far. The Hawkeyes have been more battle tested, putting forth a good effort in the loss at Creighton. They have scored 80+ points in every game this season. The Sooners have very good offensive numbers but that also due to their level of competition they’ve played. Iowa plays at a top-20 pace and will want to make this into a track meet. The Hawkeyes have also been very good at creating turnovers and turning them into transition points.
Not quite sure yet about Porter Moser's Oklahoma, which takes a big step up in class on Thursday at San Diego against the Hawkeyes. The Sooners have handled lower-tier opposition without much problem, but this is a big step up against a potent Iowa side scoring at a 95 ppg clip. Adding 6-9 Valpo transfer F Ben Krikke (20 ppg) has given Fran McCaffery another legit frontline scoring presence, while Iowa also brings impressive depth (ten Hawkeyes averaging double-digit minutes). Play Iowa (at LionTree Arena, San Diego)
Not sure who might be able to slow down this Iowa side that is the polar opposite of the slow-paced Hawkeyes football team. Not so in hoops, as Fran McCaffery's side is percolating at 95 ppg, augmented by fifth-year ex-Valpo F Ben Krikke, who has added quite a scoring dimension as he is tallying 20 ppg. Oklahoma has some go-go as well as these teams are already a combined 6-2 to the over side. Play Iowa-Oklahoma Over (at San Diego)
