Alcorn State tied for the league title and Texas Southern was 7-11 in conference play yet Alcorn is just -2 for this SWAC Tournament game from Birmingham, Ala.? There are no major injuries that I'm aware of, but I probably wouldn't know regardless as it's near impossible to get news out of this conference. The Braves swept the season series and have just one loss in their past 10 overall. KenPom ranks Alcorn about 60 spots higher than Texas Southern, which defeated ASU in the first round in 2021 and the title game in 2022. This year's Texas Southern team isn't nearly as good as those were. Because this is the SWAC, that 9:30 tipoff is more like a hopeful time and not the likely start.
