From Jan. 1 to Feb. 1, Tennessee played nine games, went 7-2 and rated as one of the five best teams in the country during that stretch according to BartTorvik.com. Since Feb. 1, the Vols have played eight games and gone 3-5 in that stretch, with the defensive efficiency taking a slight step back but the offensive efficiency dropping off a cliff. Meanwhile, as Tennessee has gone a top-5 form in the month of January to barely a top 50 team for the month of February, Arkansas has been playing some of its best basketball of the season. Star freshman Nick Smith is back in the lineup, the team has covered the spread in its last three games (2-1 straight up with only a three-point loss at Alabama) and is 8-3 ATS in its last 11 games. No issue with Tennessee favored at home, but I’ll take the surging Razorbacks to keep it close.
