This seems to be a popular pick and popularity can worry handicappers, but I think it's the correct bet based on my projections so we're jumping on the Marquette train. I always make my picks in a vacuum, independent of what others are doing and solely relying on my numbers. Those numbers have UConn winning by 3 points rather than 7, so I'll take the four point edge on a hot Marquette team. If the Golden Eagles keep up their recent play and impose their fast paced style of play on a slower Huskies squad, I think they could win. Take the points just to be safe and maybe a small sprinkle on the ML.

Marquette started the season sluggish, but has won eight of its last nine and covered the spread in all nine. The Eagles went 1-1 against Providence, 2-0 against Villanova, and also beat Xavier during the streak. They’ve been taking smarter shots but the big influence in their rise has been defensive pressure. UConn has lost its last two and is 0-3 ATS in tits last three. Take Marquette to cover Tuesday.

The Huskies are coming off of two straight losses to Villanova and Creighton. This is too many points for the Huskies to be laying to such a good team. I am expecting the Golden Eagles to keep this game close and cover this spread.
