Pennsylvania Gaming Regulators Add 15 Individuals to Involuntary Exclusion List
Gaming regulators in Pennsylvania have revoked gaming privileges for 15 people, including four individuals who left minors unattended at casino properties.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board handled multiple disciplinary matters on Dec. 17, including adding the names of 15 people to its Involuntary Exclusion list. A total of four of those individuals are now barred from gaming in the commonwealth due to leaving minors unattended while they gambled.
PGCB levies rulings on gaming privileges for 15 people
According to a statement from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), the Board's actions prohibit individuals who are on the agency's Involuntary Exclusion List "from either gaming in a casino in Pennsylvania, via an online betting site regulated by the Board, or at a Video Gaming Terminal ('VGT') location." The statement does not name the individuals added to the list.
The release does explain that four of the individuals were put on the list as a result of being found gambling while in charge of at least one minor. With these additions, the total number of people on the PGCB's Involuntary Exclusion list stands at 1,469.
The statement adds that the PGCB levied a fine against Evolution US, LLC as well. The action came from Evolution's failure "to timely file a Principal License application for a board member who assumed additional responsibility."
Evolution is a service provider for licensed gaming entities in PA. Under PA law, vendors like Evolution must inform the PGCB of changes to their boards of directors.
In Pennsylvania, online casinos are all bound to bar people on the Involuntary Exclusion list from accessing their platforms. In that way, placement on the list means individuals cannot play at any legal PA online casino app, either.
Pennsylvania law unifies exclusion across all forms of gaming
In the same way that placement on the Involuntary Exclusion List bars people from accessing casino games online, the same is true for Pennsylvania's voluntary self-exclusion program. As the verbiage suggests, that is a list that individuals can only add themselves to voluntarily.
The PGCB administers that program as well, making it applicable to every form of licensed gaming in Pennsylvania. Enrollees may not play real money games available in PA and licensed entities are barred from distributing marketing materials to them.
