Murphy announces signature for new gaming education standard
A press release from Murphy calls the new law a sign of the state's "continued commitment to promoting responsible gaming and supporting the well-being of students across New Jersey." Murphy also calls the new law part of NJ's "proactive steps to address gambling-related harm before it takes root."
The new statute mandates that colleges and universities invite the Council of Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey (CCGNJ) to their campuses each semester to hold informational sessions for students. The aim of the sessions is to educate students about risks unique to gaming, resources for people concerned with responsible gaming, and warning signs of problem gaming.
