Michigan Online Casinos Report New Single-Month Receipts Record in October 2025
Michigan online casinos reported $278.5 million in gross receipts for October 2025, the largest single-month total in that regard in the state's history.

Winnings from players wagering on casino games online with the state's 15 licensed apps and websites came to $278.5 million for October 2025, besting the previous record of $263.3 million set just two months prior.

Michigan online casinos hit new high
According to a release from the Michigan Gaming Control Board, the $278.5 in gross receipts for October translated to $261.7 million in taxable winnings for online casinos in the state. Michigan law allows iGaming licensees to deduct part of their promotional expenses from their taxable revenue through 2027.
The $261.7 million in adjusted receipts represents an increase of 31.8% compared to the same statistic in October 2024. As a result, the City of Detroit will collect $14 million in taxes, while the state stands to receive $54.6 million in privilege fees for October 2025.
The running total of gross receipts for 2025 regarding iGaming in Michigan through October stands at over $2.5 billion, with adjusted receipts for the same time approaching $2.4 billion. Michigan has collected $487 million in taxes on online casino play for 2025 so far, while Detroit's tally stands at $125.8 million for the year to date.

2025 receipts ahead of 2024 by over 20%
Comparing the first 10 months of 2024 and 2025, all the pertinent figures related to iGaming in Michigan for 2025 represent an increase of at least 21.9% over 2024. That percentage represents growth in gross receipts.
Adjusted receipts are up 25.1%, while state tax dollars have increased 25.5%. The ledger for Detroit has seen the best bump at 27.3%.
Should December and November follow established trends in Michigan and nationwide, Michigan's legal online casinos should finish 2025 flirting with $3 billion in gross receipts plus having produced nearly three-quarters of a billion dollars in state taxes and $150 million in revenue for Detroit. In 2024, those two months combined for $470 million in gross receipts, $88.4 million in state tax dollars, and $22 million in funds for Detroit.
Local and state governments could stand to benefit further from iGaming in 2028, when deductions for promotional play sunset, if online casinos continue to perform at these levels and Michigan's government does not extend the deductions. At this time, the existing funds are aiding the state's budgetary needs.
