Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Mike's Analysis:

The Giants’ charter plane headed to London minus several familiar faces. Of the half-dozen injured who stayed home, the key absentees are WRs Kadarius Toney and Kenny Golladay, plus OLB Azeez Ojulari. New York’s passing game has hardly dazzled, and a dearth of receivers eases the task of a nasty Green Bay defense. Without Ojulari, QB Aaron Rodgers will be afforded more seconds in the pocket. Hefty favorites — seven points or more — are unbeaten against-the-spread in Europe games in seven tries.

R.J.'s Analysis:

Two 3-1 teams take the stage in London, though the market clearly believes one is much better than the other. I'm not going to try and argue they're equals, but don't the Giants deserve a little more respect considering Daniel Jones didn't even get an injury designation? The Giants should be able to run the ball consistently against the weaker Packers rush defense that has to at least respect the passing game a little with Jones under center. The banged-up Giants may also get Leonard Williams back for this game, which would be huge. I don't trust this Packers team to cover a big number against a non-basement dweller, especially away from Green Bay.

Larry's Analysis:

Daniel Jones (ankle) is practicing and is expected to start. Even Tyrod Taylor (concussion) has an outside chance of being available. We all know the GIants want to run the ball with Saquon Barkley, and that's the weakness of this Green Bay defense (5.0 ypc allowed). The Packers play at a slow pace, want to run the ball, and have not been explosive. Take the points with the surprising G-Men.

Emory's Analysis:

You can see the impact Defensive Coordinator Wink Martindale has had on the Giants defense so far this season. They are flying around the ball, applying pressure to the opposing offense and getting off the field. This Green Bay offense poses a different challenge, as they have QB Aaron Rodgers who's one of the best in the game at getting out of bad plays and into the best possible protections, which will be key. It is also key to note that Giants QB Daniel Jones is coming into this game a bit banged up, which just limits an already limited passing offense, making them one-dimensional.
