When the Cubs are playing one of their final Friday home matinees of the season, you know said MLB year is sadly (mercifully?) almost over and you also know I have to bet it. It's called Ferris Bueller-itis. Might also be the last time I ever back Kyle Hendricks, who for a while was a sorta poor-man's Greg Maddux but of late "the Professor" has become more like a rich-man's Anthony Young. Hendricks does come off one of his best outings of the season, and if you are a Cubs fan like me you are somewhat used to him twirling six strong innings on a Friday afternoon whilst planning your weekend hijinks. Honestly not sure why the Jays are even favored.
