A 3-0 first-leg win or not, we do wonder a bit about the direction of Borussia Dortmund, which has lost two of three since Nico Kovac moved behind the bench a couple of weeks ago. Both losses came in the Bundesliga, including 2-0 on the weekend vs. unfancied Bochum, sandwiched around that 3-0 stunner in Lisboa last week. We acknowledge that Sporting hasn't been quite the same since Ruben Amorim left for Man United, which he might be regretting about now, but it remains capable of banging in goals especially with Swedish striker Viktor Gyokores (30 goals in all competitions this season! Though late word he could miss Wednesday). Play Borussia Dortmund-Sporting Lisbon Over

Borussia Dortmund cruised to a 3-0 victory on the road in the first leg, which means Sporting Lisbon will have to press early and often if they want to have any shot at advancing to the next round. Borussia Dortmund’s shutout victory was the first clean sheet they recorded since a 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb on Nov. 27. These two teams combined for 13 shots on target in the first leg, and I expect plenty of scoring opportunities to come along for both teams again. Plus, Over 2.5 goals has hit in six of Dortmund’s past seven games overall, a trend I’m backing again on Wednesday.
