The Padres are once again looking like a playoff team, and they enter Thursday holding a Wild Card spot in the National League. One team looking up at them is the Cardinals, who are hovering just over .500 with the trade deadline looming. It's a veteran pitching matchup with Yu Darvish (0-2, 6.08 ERA) facing Sonny Gray (9-4, 4.04 ERA). The Seattle Mariners dropped two of three to the red-hot Milwaukee Brewers and now head to Anaheim to face the Angels in an AL West matchup. Rookie right-hander Logan Evans (3-3, 3.81 ERA) goes for Seattle, while the Angels counter with lefty Yusei Kikuchi (4-6, 3.13 ERA), a former Mariner who just made his second All-Star Game. The model is backing the Mariners on the run line, as Seattle covers +1.5 in 76% of simulations, returning value at -163 odds.

The Fever will likely be without Caitlin Clark as they aim to get back over .500 when they host the 12-11 Aces. Clark is once again dealing with a groin injury, and the second-year superstar has been banged up most of this year. The Fever have lost two in a row and are 5-5 over their last 10 games, most of which have been with Clark on the bench. WNBA experts Calvin Wetzel and Aaron Barzilai have logged their picks for this game on CBS Sports, which includes a player prop for Fever guard Sophie Cunningham.
