Best bets for NFL Week 9 on Sunday
The Rams are winners of two straight to move to 4-4 on the year after a rough 2-4 start to the season. Los Angeles has gotten rolling offensively in recent weeks, and that unit faces a Washington defense that's among the league's worst this season. Jayden Daniels and Co. beat Philadelphia last week but are just 2-4-1 this year. The Commanders have been more competitive in recent weeks, though. The SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, has the Commanders winning in 48% of simulations at plus money.
The Packers and Patriots clash in one of the best games of the Week 9 slate out in Foxborough. These squads have had very similar starts to the year as both began 1-2 and have gone 4-1 since. Jordan Love is playing great for Green Bay, Drake Maye has gotten hot for New England and each defense is top 10 in points allowed per game. The Packers are still trying to get the run game going, as they have the worst rushing attack in football by a wide margin. The model has Green Bay winning 49% of the time at plus money.
Sunday Night Football pits the Buccaneers against the Bears to wrap up Sunday's action. The Bucs are winners of three of four and got Baker Mayfield back in Week 7, though he's been asked to do very little despite the team winning those starts. In fact, he didn't complete a single pass in Tampa's Week 8 win over Atlanta. The Bucs are 3-5 after an 0-4 start to the season. The Bears are red hot at 6-2 and are winners of three straight after beating Seattle on Monday with Caleb Williams playing like an MVP candidate. The SportsLine model has Chicago covering a six-point spread in the majority of simulations.
