Best bets for Wednesday
There are two Conference USA football games on Wednesday, including Jacksonville State visiting Kennesaw State. The Gamecocks are 3-2 and won their first game of conference play when they beat Middle Tennessee 23-13 last week. Kennesaw State is 1-3 and will be playing its conference opener. The SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every FBS game 10,000 times, has the Over hitting 61.9% of the time.
The New York Yankees repeatedly tripped over their own shoelaces in Game 2 of the ALDS and now return to the Bronx down 0-2 and have to beat the Tampa Bay Rays to keep their season alive on Wednesday. New York suffered a full-scale defensive meltdown after being held to a single hit in Game 1. The Rays have looked like the superior team in every way, enough that the absence of Aaron Judge isn't a sufficient excuse for the Yankees' failures. Max Fried will be tasked with rescuing New York on Wednesday while Nick Martinez will start for the Rays. Tampa Bay covers in 66% of the model's simulations.
