Best bets for Saturday, Nov. 7
Utah is the home of one of the top games of the Week 10 schedule with BYU visiting Utah. These Big 12 rivals are no stranger to one another, and this matchup is one of the biggest in the rivalry's history. BYU is 7-1, with the lone blemish coming at UCF, and Utah is a perfect 8-0 as one of three unbeaten teams in the nation. This matchup of top-10 teams will play a big role in the College Football Playoff and Big 12 title game pictures. The SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every college football game 10,000 times, likes the Over on 48.5, with that hitting nearly 60% of the time.
Out in the SEC, a pair of two-loss teams clash in a massive game with LSU hosting Alabama. A three-loss SEC team has a good chance of making the CFP, so while this game may not be disqualifying for the loser, it will leave a lot up to chance. Alabama has lost to Georgia and Tennessee this year, and LSU lost to Ole Miss and Kentucky. Lane Kiffin is looking for a signature win in Year 1 at Baton Rouge, and Kalen DeBoer is trying to lead the Tide back to the CFP. LSU wins in more than 60% of the model's simulations.
The potential game of the day – and the year – comes in South Bend with Notre Dame out for revenge against Miami. The Hurricanes won 27-24 in Miami last year, a game that played a major part in the Canes making the CFP and the Fighting Irish getting left out. Miami is No. 1 in the nation at 8-0 and Notre Dame is 7-1, with a recent loss to BYU its lone blemish. There's a good chance the winner here will be No. 1 in the next AP poll. The model's top play is Under 57.5, which hits 65% of the time for a rare 'A' grade.
