Once in a while we can trust what we see, which backers of the Red Wings certainly hope is the case. Five straight wins for Detroit have them getting excited in Motown, with Steve Yzerman's stockpile of young talent beginning to pay dividends. The defense, a concern in previous seasons, has looked uncommonly sturdy, with the addition of ex-Duck John Gibson (in the nets tonight) and Cam Talbot gives Detroit more depth than usual in goal.
