Montreal's failure to lock up the final East playoff spot its past two games has thrown Columbus a lifeline. Two more games for the Jackets, and if they win both (tonight vs. the Flyers, Thursday at home vs. Islanders), and Montreal loses in regulation time in its finale vs. Carolina, Columbus becomes the eighth seed. The fly in the ointment tonight is Philadelphia, which seems to have rather enjoyed playing for interim Brad Shaw, and has won five of seven since the coaching switch. Dean Evason is also riding hot goalie jet Greaves, who's allowed just three goals across the last three games, all Columbus win and part of this late four-game win streak to keep the Jackets alive.
