Odell Beckham Jr. Ends Social Media Hiatus, Takes More Shots At Giants

Well that didn't last long! Early last week, new Cleveland Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr. shared a post on Instagram that said he would be going "dark" on social media for training ahead of camp. Browns players report to camp in Berea, Ohio, on July 24 with the team's first practice the following day.
Anyone who follows OBJ should have known better than to thank the brash star could stay quiet that long – and he made it all of three days. On Saturday night, he unleashed a bunch of tweets, including saying that him leaving the Giants was necessary because he felt he "wasn't going to be able to reach my full potential there."
"I just felt with the Giants I was just stuck at a place that wasn't working for me anymore," he said. "I felt like I wasn't going to be able to reach my full potential there; mentally, physically, spiritually, everything I felt capable of doing, I just couldn't see it happening there."
OBJ also referenced God a few times and took a veiled shot at Giants GM Dave Gettleman. Beckham plans to train with quarterback Baker Mayfield and fellow receivers Jarvis Landry and Antonio Callaway, among others, in Los Angeles in the weeks leading up to training camp.
It's a darn shame that the Browns don't play the Giants this season, although New York fans will get their chance to vent at Beckham Jr. in Week 2 when Cleveland is at the New York Jets on Monday night. OBJ's regular-season debut is home to the Titans on Sept. 8, with Cleveland an early 5-point favorite on the NFL odds.
Cleveland's preseason debut is Aug. 8 against visiting Washington. OBJ could play more in the preseason than normal simply to learn the offense and get in sync with Mayfield.Â
