Jordan Addison 2023 NFL odds, props: Vikings wideout favored to lead all rookies in receiving yards

Oddsmakers favor Minnesota's Jordan Addison to lead all rookies in receiving.

We told you on Friday that the various sportsbooks had opened Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson as the betting favorite to win 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and that remains the case. FanDuel also offers an interesting prop on which player leads all rookies in receiving yards this year, with the Minnesota Vikings' Jordan Addison installed as the +270 favorite.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Addison was the Biletnikoff Award winner in 2021 at Pittsburgh and transferred to USC last season to play with eventual Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams (already the -600 favorite to be the top overall pick in the 2024 draft). Addison dealt with some injuries at USC and caught 59 passes for 875 yards and eight scores. He scored six touchdowns on screen passes over the past two seasons, the most in the FBS during that span.

The Vikings have perhaps the best receiver in football in Justin Jefferson and a good potential No. 2 in KJ Osborn, but Osborn is entering the final year of his contract and Adam Thielen is now in Carolina, so receiver was a position of need -- one which Addison should provide plenty of help at. The Vikings became the ninth team in NFL history to have four players catch at least 60 passes last season and will put the ball in the air again in 2023.

They grabbed Addison at No. 23 overall, making him the fourth receiver off the board. He was in fact the fourth receiver chosen in a row, following Jaxon Smith-Njigba to the Seahawks at No. 20, Quentin Johnson at No. 21 to the Chargers, and Zay Flowers at No. 22 to Baltimore. It was the first instance of four straight wideout selections in the NFL modern era. The CBS Sports Big Board ranked Addison as the No. 25 overall player and No. 4 wideout behind the aforementioned recievers.

At DraftKings, Addison is +1700 to win Offensive Rookie of the Year behind Robinson (+300), Carolina's Bryce Young (+475), Seattle's Smith-Njigba (+700), Houston's CJ Stroud (+700), Detroit's Jahmyr Gibbs (+900) and Indianapolis' Anthony Richardson (+900).

On the rookie receiving yardage prop, Smith-Njigba is a +400 second favorite, Johnson is +500, and then Flowers and Carolina's Jonathan Mingo (a second-round pick) are each +1000.
