Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury "getting on the same page" isn't something that should be happening this deep into their relationship, nor does it hold any meaning given no one knows what page Kingsbury is on week to week. That's not to say Brandon Staley is some model of consistency, of course. Justin Herbert looked a bit rejuvenated last week with his health improving, his receivers back and Staley actually calling some downfield passing plays. The Cardinals are on a 2-9 ATS streak at home. The Chargers are on a 5-1 ATS streak off losses. The key will be Los Angeles scoring in the second half, which it has struggled to do lately. There's good value on the Chargers under a field goal, though I would also take them at -3.
The Cardinals get Kyler Murray and likely Marquise Brown back for this game, which has dropped the line from Chargers -4.5 early in the week to under the key number of 3. I liked the Cardinals at the earlier number, but I think L.A. is definitely the better team, and with Arizona not having much home-field advantage, I'm happy to lay the points with the Chargers at this number. Arizona is still dealing with a number of injuries, including being down D.J. Humphries at left tackle, and hasn't had any impressive wins this season. The Chargers have lost by a combined nine points against perhaps this year's Super Bowl teams the last two weeks, I like them to win here.
Chargers WR Keenan Allen returned with a bang last Sunday after a long layoff and could produce even more in his second return game. Fellow WR Mike Williams also resumed action following a hiatus and would further juice the offense if he rebounds from an ankle injury. Arizona is on the ropes. It's defense struggles against the pass, and QB Kyler Murray's scrambling could be restricted by a sore hamstring. The lone 'Zona outright win in its last four outings was against the free-falling Rams. L.A. will welcome a softer opponent after narrow losses to the twin powers 49ers and Chiefs.
