The Colts should run through the Texans, which not only have no reason to press in this game but are also seeing the end of their season approaching. A road game coming off a brutal beatdown by the Bears is not a good bounce back spot despite Houston getting a couple players back. Indianapolis is going to rely on Jonathan Taylor to carve up this defense, and the Colts could easily win this by two touchdowns despite winning by just six a couple weeks ago. My stop point for this game is -7, so I had to wait for it to fall back to this number.
The Bears averaged 7.3 yards per carry last week against Houston, and now the Texans face a much stronger rushing attack. Jonathan Taylor (33 carries, 241 rushing yards the past two weeks) is going to have a monster day. Anthony Castonzo missed the first matchup with Houston two weeks ago but he's back and that means Indy's offense should roll. Lay the points.
These teams played a couple of weeks ago with the Colts winning 26-20, and I like taking the Under in "rematches" between division foes. Particularly when there hasn't been as much time since the game has passed. Houston's offense was inept in Chicago last week, with the offensive line uanble to block, and Deshaun Watson unwilling to get rid of the ball. This Colts defense should have the same kind of success Chicago's did, but I'm weary of the spread in this spot.
The Texans just got dismantled by Mitchell Trubisky, and the Colts will do the same. Philip Rivers isn't making mistakes, Jonathan Taylor is running well. Colts win by double digits.
This line should inflate throughout the week, so let's hop on it now and get the best value. The Colts have hit their stride on offense, coming off their best performance of the season as T.Y. Hilton and Jonathan Taylor have become difficult to stop. That's bad news for a Texans defense that's always had trouble stopping Hilton and that also lost a key player in Justin Reid last week. The Colts defense has had its struggles lately against some top offenses but did hold the Texans to 20 points in Houston and should be able to put together a similar effort this week. I think this line should be Colts -10 and I still might like the home team in that scenario.
