The Portland Trailblazers continue to have key players out in Jerami Grant, Anfernee Simons, and off the bench Matisse Thybulle. As a result the Trailblazers have lost ten straight games as they utilize more role players. Yet, they did come close to defeating the Magic as they lost by one point. Take the Blazers in what is a solid matchup against the Hornets.
This is simply the biggest PRA line for Ayton that I have ever seen, including his entire tenure as a Phoenix Sun. Credit to Ayton who has been putting up some gaudy (empty) stat lines recently. The Blazers roster is essentially comprised of rookie Scoot Henderson, along with Ayton, who are then accompanied by a combo of 10-day contracts and G-League players. Even in a plus matchup this is a massive line for Ayton who averages a combined 27.5 PRA. Ayton has been held under this line in 40 of 49 appearances this season (82%). At this number Ayton is an auto fade and if he can clear it, I will give him credit and hope to get a similar number in his next appearance.
This is a big combo line for Grant Williams who averages 10.1 PPG and has failed to eclipse this PA line in 57 of 71 games, or 80% of his appearances. Williams is a high energy player that does a lot of little things that dont always show up on the box score. However, offensively Williams is almost exclusively limited to corner threes and catch shoot attempts with nearly 67% of his field goals coming with 0 dribbles. Williams is able to consistently score off the dribble or create offense so in the event high usage players like Miles Bridges and Brandon Miller are inactive (both Miller and Bridges are Q) its unlikely to result in a significant uptick in usage for Williams.
