Game 1’s finish cost bettors the Over; Toronto went the final four minutes without a basket. Milwaukee’s ability to be relentless is going to force the Raptors starters to play more minutes. Look for that to wear Toronto's defense down but to not have an effect on the offensive end. Grab the Over for Game 2.
The Bucks stormed back to not only win Game 1 but topple the number ATS in the final seconds. The Bucks have different units to throw at the Raptors and will continue to adapt for four quarters against Toronto. Go with the Bucks to grab another ATS win.
Outside of Brook Lopez and Malcolm Brogdon, no one shot well for the Bucks in Game 1. They hesitated on wide-open looks until turning it on in the fourth quarter. Look for a carryover and another cover by Milwaukee, which is 9-1 ATS in the playoffs.
Game One of this series was a lower-scoring affair as the two teams combined for a total of 208 points. I don't expect Game Two to look all that dissimilar as far as the total offensive output.
Game One of this series looked like most of Milwaukee's series with Boston, as the Bucks had to come back from an early deficit to win. I don't recommend making it a theme against this Raptors team, but I do like the Bucks ATS tonight. Brook Lopez won't have the same kind of night, but neither will Niko Mirotic, Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe and Kyle Lowry. Milwaukee's just the more well-rounded team.
The underdog has covered seven of the last meetings, and the road team has covered seven of the last nine meetings. But this Bucks squad is on a roll right now. They come off a poor outing in Game 1 and still managed to not only win, but cover as well. It was their wake-up call. Milwaukee is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 games and 40-18-2 ATS in its last 60 overall. Back the Bucks in game 2 on Friday.
After racing out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter of Game 1, the Raptors couldn’t hold on, falling by eight points. That’s a tough way to lose, especially since Khris Middleton, Nikola Mirotic and Eric Bledsoe shot a combined 2-for-18 from behind the arc. Don’t expect Brook Lopez to score 29 points again, but it’s not unreasonable to think that the other three should be more productive. Kyle Lowry also won’t go 7-for-9 from behind the arc again like he did for the Raptors, so I’ll take the Bucks to cover.
