San Diego is currently tied with the Cubs for the top two NL Wild Card spots and hold a one game lead to Philadelphia. The Padres are hitting .323 over the last 15 days and are on mission to clinch a post-season berth which could occur within the next to days if they keep winning. They’ve won four start Michael King starts as Los Angeles has a .172 OBP in his 17.1 innings against them. It’s a bullpen day for the Dodgers, middle of the pack in the NL, as they don’t have much to play for as compared to San Diego.
There is some uncertainty who will start for the Dodgers but it’s likely Justin Wrobleski, and Michael King will take the mound for the Padres. I don’t have much interest in backing the Dodgers bats here against King, but the Padres offense has been rolling, as they’re 14-2 in their last 16 games and have scored 4+ runs in 12 of those wins. For a team that’s this hot and is on the away side guaranteeing them nine at bats, I would think this is the team total with Yamamoto or Snell on the mound. With it being Wrobleski or another bullpen arm, this is more of a bullpen game so I’m taking the over 3.5 runs and betting San Diego's bats stay hot.
