The Washington National’s over rode their road woes on the season in a 9-1 win Friday over the St. Louis Cardinals. They did that as a slight favorite, and are in the same ballpark from a market price stand point Saturday. Michael McGreevy actually limited the National’s to four hits and one run but the start was his third of the season in April. It was also when the National’s had lost seven out of eight games, similar to their early September struggles when they lost eight straight. Now they’ve won five of six, and keep the momentum going tonight. Tail the Nationals.
Poor Nationals LHP Andrew Alvarez has yet to win a game in 15 starts because the bullpen behind him stinks. His ERA is 2.37 over this last seven starts; his last outing, he allowed one hit over seven frames and still didn't get the W. Washington has scored six-plus runs in four of five games. The Cards' bats are struggling and Michael McGreevy has had issues in innings 4-5.
