San Francisco has only hit .234 on the road against left-handers on the year. Blade Tidwell has a tough test ahead of him while owning a 4.33 ERA over 27 innings this season. Patrick Sandoval hasn’t been much better with a 4.76 ERA but over the last two months, the Red Sox have been one of the bets lineups in the majors when facing righties at home, hitting .289 and can even take advantage of a San Francisco bullpen near the bottom of the NL with a 4.34 ERA.
This looks like a great spot to fade Patrick Sandoval in what is a really difficult matchup. Sandoval has a limited sample size this season but throughout his career is average at best in the strikeout department. He’ll face a Giants lineup that is ultra stingy versus opposing southpaws. Considering the excellent price point, this is a multi unit position for me.
