Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Larry's Analysis:

Lowly Colorado has been feisty lately. The Rockies have won five of eight, with two of the losses coming to the Dodgers in their final at-bat. Starter Ryan Feltner has pitched well vs. the Giants twice, allowing two earned runs over 12 innings with 11 strikeouts. Back Colorado to at least be tied through five.

Adam's Analysis:

It often feels futile to back the Rockies, especially on the road. But Ryan Feltner has allowed 0-2 runs in eight of his last nine starts, and six days ago struck out nine Giants and allowed only three hits in a win at Coors. Giants top prospect Carson Whisenhunt gets the call-up here, but the LHP has a 4.43 ERA in 36 Triple-A starts over two seasons. Colorado’s OPS vs. LHPs the last two weeks is .816, and the Giants’ bullpen (6.49 ERA in that same span) isn’t offering much relief lately.
