Only twice has McClanahan reached 90 pitches, as the Rays typically pull him if he’s finished the fifth inning at 75-80 pitches. And while the Angels aren’t stout offensively, they do work counts (3.92 pitches per plate appearance). Plus, McClanahan’s walk rate does spike on the road (9.4%).
