The past month, Cleveland has been to the brink of the wild card discussion before, only to inevitably tail off as the rotation carries too much of the burden. But the Guardians have fought their way back into the playoff chatter and wild card race with a badly needed four wins on the spin, and are hoping Tanner Bibee can forget some of his past struggles in August (including a 6.26 ERA). The Mariners currently sit in the sixth and final AL wild card slot, but have dropped the last two nights in Cleveland, and Seattle's Bryce Miller hasn't been so reliable on the mound either, as in his two starts since being activated, Miller has posted a 7.20 ERA.
