Carlos Rodon's matchup against the Boston Red Sox seems favorable, especially considering the Red Sox's struggles against left-handed pitching since the All-Star break, where they have posted just a .675 OPS. Interestingly, the last time the Red Sox swept the Yankees in a four-game series at Yankee Stadium was July 7-9, 1939. Dustin May has an ERA of 6.28 on the road, and his overall hard-hit rate of 45.3% places him in the 15th percentile. I believe he will face challenges against the Yankees' lineup.

I'm going all-in on the Yankees on Sunday night, seriously. As I have said many times, I'm an intangibles guy. They cannot lose this game at home and be swept by a bitter rival in the last home game of the year vs. Boston (won 8 straight in series). Especially after getting plastered again on Saturday. And especially times two with the clear pitching advantage in Carlos Rodon vs. Dustin May. Oh, the Yanks may well lose again, and personally (but not financially) that would give me glee (first and last time I use that word in a sentence), but Aaron Boone is managing for his job in this one in my opinion. He'd be gone today if Big George was still around.
