Chapman passed a physical examination Saturday, which was the final hurdle in order for his $13 million option for 2027 to vest, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
The Yankees outrighted Cornielle to the Florida Complex League on Thursday.
Manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Schmidt (biceps) will be shut down for the rest of the season, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

The New York Yankees travel to Boston after getting two victories against the Tampa Bay Rays. I’ll attack the hitting prop market with Cody Bellinger. Bellinger had two home runs Tuesday, and has had at least one hit in four out of his last five games. He gets at least a couple of hits or double tonight in Fenway.
A three-game sweep in St Louis, and winning two in Tampa, has put the Bronx Bombers win streak at 5, their best push since before the All-Star break. Thursday starter Luis Gil seems to be rounding into form after his recent activation, picking up his first win of 2025 last Friday at Busch Stadium when working a solid 5 1/3 innings. We wonder, too, if the Bosox are a bit spent right now, their late July-early August surge now into a 3-7 slump in which the Yanks have bypassed the Sox for second place in the AL East. Lucas Giolito has also struggled in recent road starts (6.30 ERA in last four away from Fenway Park). Play Yankees on the Run Line.
