Following an extended ascent, the Marlins are due a mulligan after last night's poor effort vs. the Astros, when uncharacteristic blunders on the basepaths and defense proved costly. Tuesday starter Cal Quantrill, however, has been one of the NL's hottest pitchers since mid-June, as Miami has won in seven of his last eight starts, while in the last three of those, he's allowed only one run and eight hits, plus two walks, across 16 IP (0.63 WHIP). The Marlins might have still been thinking about their rousing sweep of the Yankees on the weekend when losing last night, and expect a bounce-back vs. Houston as Joe Espada looks for a starting pitcher, perhaps considering making this an Astros bullpen game.
