There's plenty of buzz tonight in Cincy with the MLB debut on the mound of ballyhooed Reds rookie Chase Burns, who has raced up from A to AA to AAA already this season, dominating along the way (7-3 with a 1.77 ERA in 13 starts, along with 89 Ks, most recently at AAA Louisville). Cincy continued its good June pace (12-8 this month) with last night's 6-1 win, the latest indicator that all isn't right at the moment with the Yankees, who have lost 8 of 11, with the offense scoring 3 or fewer runs on eight different occasions. Elly De La Cruz finished a double shy of the cycle in the first game of the series between the Yankees and Reds yesterday, and he is now hitting .333 in the month of June. Elly is slugging .750 in June with 7 HRs, 2 3Bs, and 5 2Bs. While he is significantly worse facing left-handed pitchers, De La Cruz is a switch-hitter and does have 5 HRs against lefties this season. Carlos Rodon has given up 5 HRs over his last three starts, and 10 of the 13 HRs he has allowed this season have come from players batting from the right side.
