The Giants are going to make this a bullpen game tonight with Erik Miller serving as the effective opener for Bob Melvin. The most important thing about tonight for SF, however, is simply not facing the Yankees, who swept the weekend set at Oracle Park. The Giants are glad to be done with them after they entered the weekend on a nice 10-3 uptick and in an NL wild card spot. The D-backs (back from New York where they faced the Mets) aren't the Yankees, and have only managed a 13-15 mark at home. Ryne Nelson also brings a subpar 6.02 ERA into tonight for Arizona.
