This was plus money. And I see some of my fellow sharps grabbed it early. The Giants have NO PEN LEFT TONIGHT and Harrison can eat innings. Plus the Mets lineup isn’t better than average. Over
The Giants are coming off a competitive series with the Pirates that taxed the bullpen. On Wednesday, starter Blake Snell lasted 3.1 innings and the bullpen had to cover 6.2 in a 10-inning game. On Thursday, primary pitcher Mason Black managed just 2.2 innings, leaving the other relievers to throw 6.1 innings. The Giants come into this game as a result needing length from Kyle Harrison, who gets a great matchup with a Mets offense that owns an 85 OPS+ against southpaws. I like Harrison to get into the sixth inning despite that being the 'dog side.
That rumbling from out in San Francisco is not the latest mini-earthquake to shake the Bay Area; rather, it's the Giants, who have won five of six, and rallied from well behind to take the rubber match of the series in Pittsburgh on Thursday. Now on to Citi Field and handing the ball to Kyle Harrison, in whose last seven starts SF has won (Harrison also has a 2.25 ERA across his last six starts). Meanwhile, the Mets simply can't seem to generate any traction, floundering at 21-28, and they've lost all three starts made by rookie Christian Scott, on the mound again tonight. Play Giants on Money Line
The Giants pitching is in a tough spot here. They played ten innings on Tuesday, got just 3.1 innings from Blake Snell on Wednesday and Mason Black lasted 2.2 innings behind an opener yesterday, tasking the bullpen with another massive load to carry. That's three straight days of considerable bullpen usage, and now Kyle Harrison takes the mound on extra rest, against a Mets team that's been much worse vs lefties this year. He's pitched into the 6th inning in half of his starts this year, while going less than five innings only once in ten tries. They want to limit his innings when possible but this seems like a spot you have to ask for a little more from the kid. Love the price!
