Clergy are at home and the Birds are off a BRUTAL loss. Now they have to deal with a knuckler. Take the clergy.

Last year, teams that played on Sunday night and had to travel seemed to never win when having to play Monday in a quick turnaround, and that's where the Cardinals are after blowing a late lead at the Dodgers in a 5-4 loss. That St. Louis bullpen is a big issue. Friars pitcher and knuckleballer Matt Waldron won the No. 5 job with a terrific spring. He pitched pretty well in a 2023 start vs. the Cards.

Matt Waldron had a great spring pitching in four games, starting twice, went 13 innings allowed 13 hits, and two runs out of spring. He also had one save. Last year's rookie year went six starts and pitched 41 innings total giving up 39 hits and 20 runs. I don't like the fact that he gave up nine home runs but the Nebraska Cornhusker is just hitting his prime. Cornbread fed. I like the Padres to win.
