Friday night, the Reds beat the Dodgers 6-5 despite better-than-expected starting pitching. Tonight, we have worse starting pitching and the same big bats. The Red will send out Luke Weaver, who has a 7.20 ERA, 11% barrel rate and 43% hard-hit rate (47% last three starts). Emmet Sheehan was a sixth-round selection by the Dodgers in 2021 who has been rushed to the big leagues because of injuries to four of L.A.'s five starting pitchers. Sheehan has a 6.75 ERA and strikes out just 6.8 batters per nine innings while walking 4.9. I'm looking for fireworks at Chavez Ravine.
Looking to target Luke Weaver and Emmett Sheehan, two starting pitchers that have given up a bunch of runs of late. Getting in here at 10 on Caesars Sportsbook gives us the ability to push if this ends at 10, while we still need an 11th run to cash. Sheehan has given up 17 runs over his last three starts and Weaver has given up 12 runs over his last three. Expected stats also point to both pitchers struggling, so I'll ride the over 10.
This is a matchup between two struggling starting pitchers. Starting for the Dodgers will be Emmet Sheehan, who has a 6.75 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. Taking the mound for the Reds will be Luke Weaver, who has a 7.20 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP. To top things off, the weather forecast is for hot temperatures with winds blowing out. Look for plenty of runs to be scored by both sides.
Emmet Sheehan and Luke Weaver have not been good this season and are now paired together in what's likely to be another ideal hitting environment at Dodger Stadium. Over his last four starts Sheehan has given up 24 hits and 20 runs while Weaver has given up 24 hits and 14 runs during his last four. Add to that Weaver is allowing a ton of contact and going up against a team who has been great against righties and you're going to see a lot of runs.
