The Dodgers went 14-5 against the Padres in the regular season while outscoring them 109-47. They took Game 1 after jumping out to a 5-0 lead, though to the Padres' credit, they made it interesting. It'll be interesting again in Game 2, but the Dodgers will win again. Clayton Kershaw was still great this season whenever healthy and he carved up the Padres twice (0.75 ERA, 0.75 WHIP). The Dodgers' new-look bullpen is also great. Runs won't be easy to come by with Yu Darvish on the hill, but the Dodgers' offense will manage enough.
Clayton Kershaw’s been back to his old self, he hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in his last eight straight starts. He can get into trouble in the playoffs though. Yu Darvish has been straight up filthy his past few outings and I think that should continue today. The Dodgers have dominated the Padres this season winning 15 of the 20 games and 9 of the 11 games at home, but I think if the Padres are going to steal a game, it’s going to be behind their ace. I like the value on the Padres in Game 2, and if they don’t win we might be looking at a Dodgers sweep with either Tony Gonsolin or Tyler Anderson against Blake Snell on Friday.
