When I saw the total for this game I assumed that Jack Flaherty and Max Scherzer were starting, not Miles Mikolas and Anibal Sanchez. I don't care whether MLB has changed the balls again for the postseason, neither Mikolas or Sanchez strike hitters out. Take the Over.

Miles Mikolas will be facing Anibal Sanchez in game 1 of this NLCS. Mikolas is 9-14 with a 4.16 ERA this season and 5-6 with a 3.01 ERA at home. Anibal Sanchez is 11-8 with a 3.85 ERA and 7-6 with a 3.48 ERA on the road. Both these pitchers went five innings, giving up one run in their postseason starts. However, I like the Cards to win this game with their bullpen. Unless Sanchez goes seven innings, the Nats will have to deploy someone other than Daniel Hudson or Sean Doolittle. And I think that’s where the Cards win this game.
