The Week 16 NFL schedule gifted fans with a rare blessing: two potential Super Bowl matchups. The championship game could very well pair up Dallas and Miami, who faced off Sunday, or Baltimore and San Francisco, who met Monday.

The bonus that came with the Christmas Eve/Day doubleheader was a chance to admire four quarterbacks from the upper echelon of our weekly ratings. All were ranked among the top seven, and the lowest among them entered as the wagering favorite for league MVP.

With the QBs, Cowboys vs. Dolphins was a virtual draw. 

Dak Prescott connected on 62.5% of his passes, while Tua Tagovalioa checked in at 64.8 %. Counting Prescott's carries, Tagovailoa accounted for 13 more yards. Both piloted impressive fourth-quarter scoring marches. Miami won by a whisker on a game-ending field goal.

The other duel? A blowout.

San Francisco's Brock Purdy, the MVP favorite at kickoff, pitched four interceptions, Coach Kyle Shanahan declined to reinsert Purdy after a mild injury with the outcome in Baltimore's eventual 14-point win still uncertain.

Lamar Jackson was aces. He does not pile up head-spinning passing yards, though 252 wasn't half-bad. What does exhibit is poise under pressure in the pocket, having completed 10 of 12 for a touchdown with the pass-rush heat turned high.

Jackson's ability to scramble for yards — 45 on Monday — elevates him to exalted status as a duel threat QB.

Those head-to-heads triggered a shakeup at the top of the weekly rankings.
