Week 14 QB power rankings: Betting the MVP race, rest of season projections, how to treat injuries and full tiers

Sunday was no banner day for NFL quarterbacks.

Of the 22 teams in action, 14 managed fewer than 20 completions. Nine were in the low-to-mid teens. Three were south of 50% in completion rate, while three others were fractionally over. Even with the tepid performances, combined with a half-dozen squads enjoying byes, there was movement in our latest QB rankings — notably one significant leap.

For the moment, let's focus on one who kicked back Sunday after a dynamite game three days earlier.

Dallas had not trailed in five previous home outings. The Cowboys' average victory margin was 29 points. Suddenly, Dan Prescott was staring at a fourth-quarter deficit. No problem. He helped produce three scores in the closing 11:30 for a six-point win over Seattle.

Prescott pitched three touchdown passes with nary an interception. He ended a yard shy of 300 while stretching a streak of two-TD passing games to six with 20 during the streak.

The news Sunday that the Cowboys are working on a contract extension comes as no surprise.
