Week 10 QB power rankings: Betting the MVP race, rest of season projections, how to treat injuries and full tiers

At the cusp of a long NFL Sunday, the two foremost quarterbacks in our rankings and their exalted franchises squared off more than 4,000 miles from home in the morning U.S. hours. Much later, at the day's finish line, the No. 3 QB plus a contender to join the trio on the top tier engaged in prime time.

To review: Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City brought back a win from Frankfurt, Germany, but after reduced dramatics from the quarterback, in part because Miami put the clamps on main target Travis Kelce. Mahomes threw for just 46 second-half yards and coughed up a fumble as the Chiefs went scoreless after the intermission.

Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins, scoreless in the first half, were driving for the equalizer when he missed open receiver Jaylen Wilson on third down, which their coach blamed on a misunderstood audible. Next play, Tagovailoa mishandled an errant but controllable snap that resulted in a big loss and fatal turnover on downs.

About 11 hours following the Kansas City-Miami kickoff, the gate opened in Cincinnati for Josh Allen and Joe Burrow to gain ground. 

Allem blew hot and cold, creating plays one minute while throwing a pick for the fifth consecutive game the next. Burrow was the good version of himself, with pinpoint accuracy that extended the Bengals' victory streak to four. During the stretch, no QB who started all of his games has compiled a loftier passer rating than Burrow, limited in September by a calf ailment.
