The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NFL game 10,000 times and has crushed human experts on a consistent basis.

In a straight-up, pick'em format, our proprietary computer model went 176-80 last season and beat over 95 percent of CBS Office Pool players in 2016 and 2017. It also performed better than 98 percent of experts tracked by NFLPickWatch.com during that span. Additionally, it went 48-34 on A-rated picks against the spread last season, and $100 bettors who followed it the past two seasons are up nearly $4,000.

Now it has simulated every snap of Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season and the results are in.

We can tell you that the model is calling for the Cardinals (-1.5) to win and cover against the Redskins. Adrian Peterson puts up 41 yards in his return to Arizona, but Sam Bradford goes for over 250 yards through the air, helping the Cards get the cover almost 60 percent of the time.

It also has a strong selection for the showdown between Deshaun Watson and Tom Brady, and is calling for one contender to explode out of the gates with a win that doubles the spread.
