Vegas reveals favorites to land Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis wants out of New Orleans and Vegas has revealed the favorites to land him.

One of the league's best players wants out, setting up the possibility of a new NBA 'super-team' and perhaps even a shift in the league's power dynamic.

The agent for New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis has reportedly informed the team that his client has no intention of signing a long-term deal and is seeking a trade, possibly even before the league's deadline on Feb. 7.

A first round pick out of Kentucky in 2012, the five-time All-Star has been one of the league's most dominant players on both ends of the floor, but hasn't had much to show for his efforts in terms of team success. The Pelicans have appeared in the postseason just twice since drafting Davis, advancing no further than the Western Conference semifinals.

New Orleans enters Monday at 22-28 on the season and in 13th place in the Western Conference, six full games out of the No. 8 seed.

Davis is under contract until the summer of 2020, so New Orleans isn't forced to oblige any trade demands at this point, though his potential return value will seemingly drop as time passes.

Sportsbook review has taken a look at the odds for where Davis will land next, noting that Bovada already posted odds before Monday's news:

    Pelicans +160
    Lakers +190
    Celtics +275
    Knicks +850
    76ers +850

SBR projects that the odds could shift to these after Monday:

    Lakers EVEN
    Celtics +175
    Knicks +650
    76ers +650
    Pelicans +10000

Update: BetOnline.AG has revealed updated odds for where Davis lands next:

    Los Angeles Lakers +125 (5/4)
    Boston Celtics +300 (3/1)
    New York Knicks +550 (11/2)
    Philadelphia 76ers +700 (7/1)
    New Orleans Pelicans +900 (9/1)
    Houston Rockets +1200 (12/1)
    Toronto Raptors +1400 (14/1)
    Oklahoma City Thunder +1400 (14/1)
    San Antonio Spurs +1600 (16/1)
    Golden State Warriors +1600 (16/1)

The Lakers will certainly be the team to watch as LeBron James inevitably searches for a second major piece to help him chase a title in Los Angeles. Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma are among the young, intriguing pieces available, so perhaps Los Angeles has the ammunition to get the deal done.

But the best value might come from the Celtics. NBA rules prevent them from making a deal for Davis before the deadline this year (CBS has more explanation), but if New Orleans can be patient until this offseason, the two sides might can come to agreement on a deal involving players such as Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown, along with some of Boston's future draft capital.
